Grete Sønsteby, one of the founders of N2 Applied and our CEO, has been nominated for the Female Entrepreneur 2018 award.

Grete was interviewed at God Morgen Norge February 15th 2018.

The Female Entrepreneur award is presented to a female entrepreneur who has developed a technical solution that addresses one or more of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals. The purpose of the award is to promote good role models that inspire and mobilize other women to engage internationally and develop solutions to global challenges. The award is a collaboration between the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Innovation Norway, and is awarded for the 9th time on Women’s Day, March 8, 2018 in New York.

N2 Applied enables livestock farmers to recycle nitrogen and produce their own nitrogen fertilizer on the farm, with lower greenhouse gas emissions, improved resource efficiency and reduced cost. N2 disrupts the fertilizer value chain, changing it from a linear to a circular model. N2’s solutions directly address the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal #2 – ending hunger, achieving food security and improved nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture.

Inside these 12 centimeters the core technology of N2 is located – the electric arc. Air is split into nitrogen and oxygen atoms, and they are recombined to produce nitrogen oxide. Here you see Grete illustrating on the test unit in Svene.
