The latest meeting between SBI, Acona and N2 took place in Oslo October 23rd 2013. The agenda concentrated on research activity and prototype design. The recent serendipity effect
and differences between the two models as well as the differences between the models and reality shall now be explained.
New airflow patterns shall be designed in CFD by Eirik and tested out at SBI in Hollabrunn. Electron temperature and electron density are key parameters in the models. These electron effects are probably also behind the serendipity we have experienced, and we believe the next series of tests will confirm that we have lifted our understanding another notch.
The target of 36 GJ/tN is still within reach using the scientific approach and even more so when we include the fact that the scientific modelling is still more pessimistic than the tests.
The prototyping and testing of the applications together with Cambi AS is now being prepared. The prototype will be based on the present state of the technology which is close to the commercially viable. The end-product will be identical to the end-product from the final technology.
Link to project plan for the plasma reactor realization project. We are now in the optimization phase – challenging – many paths we are eager to pursue. And exceptionally skilled and dedicated people on the mission.
